Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew growing up in Mexico with a family that was passionate about music. Her early years were spent listening to traditional music, old boleros, and the traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana loves tangos and opera, along with any dramatic performance. At the age 16, she began singing and learning the piano with her mom. Flavio, a Mexican tenor of great renown began to give her more intense singing instruction. She continued her musical studies at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterwards to the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. When she was a student, as well as a young professional at the time in Mexico City and Guadalajara she performed with various chamber groups as well as choruses. When she moved from Mexico to the United States in 2000, she sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. She sings in Ensemble XXI Redlands, and performs Latin American traditional music solo in a variety of private occasions. As a teacher and musician Ana is a dedicated participant in numerous community projects because of her love and passion for music. Ana was also a member of the Community Chorus of Redlands. The Inland Master Chorale. and the Performance Loft. Ana is privileged to have the opportunity to be able to share her love for traditional Latin American music. She hopes this can help younger generations continue the tradition.
